In accordance with rule 19 SOLAS Chapters V requirement for equipments and system ship navigation that must carry on board in accordance with ship type in 2000. IMO as in new requirement adoption that has been revised at new SOLAS Chapter V.
Regulation requires AIS is attached in all the ship above 300 GTs that navigate in International voyage, cargo ship above 500 GTs that not navigate in International voyage and all passenger ships for all size is obliged to haves Automatic Identification System in ship. And this equipments must be turn on at all time 24 hour.
This Regulation goes into effect effective for all ship above in 31 December 2004.
